First World Zen-Kyokushin German Summer Camp 2026

2026.09.08

From August 28 to 30, 2026, karateka from Germany and Poland came together at Lake Werbellinsee near Berlin for the first World Zen-Kyokushin German Summer Camp.
The camp was organized by IKO World Zen-Kyokushin Germany and hosted by Shinzen Dojo Berlin, under the leadership of Sensei Anh Son Le, 3rd Dan. Together with Senpai Paul Kniep of Zen-Kyokushin Leipzig and the invited instructors, the camp brought together karateka of different ages and grades for an intensive weekend of Kyokushin training.
Three days surrounded by forest and water provided the setting for what Kyokushin is all about: hard training, strong spirit, respect and training together beyond borders.
The camp began on Friday evening with an opening session led by Sensei Son, bringing everyone onto the tatami for the first training of the weekend.
Saturday was a full Kyokushin training day. Shihan Jaroslaw Remus led an intensive outdoor session with Kihon, Ido Geiko, combinations and partner work. Further sessions with Sensei Son, Senpai Paul Kniep and other instructors focused on Kumite, pad work, conditioning and technical training, giving everyone the opportunity to train hard with different instructors and partners.
For those taking part in the grading, the challenge continued with Kihon and Kata before the final Kumite test on Sunday morning. Round after round, the candidates had to show not only technique and physical condition, but also the fighting spirit and perseverance expected in Kyokushin.
The camp concluded with the presentation of certificates and grading results, including the presentation of black belts to Senpai Julia and Senpai Marco.
But a Kyokushin camp is more than training alone. Between the sessions, new friendships were formed, old friendships became stronger and the connection between our karateka in Germany, Poland and across World Zen-Kyokushin Europe continued to grow.
The first German Summer Camp was a strong beginning, and certainly not the last.
